CONFESSIONS OF THE LOVE OF GOD By Numa

 Love is a strong word that is mostly loosely used by us in expressions towards others. Many times love has been put to test and the love we understand has failed countless times. Love is accompanied by conditions and benefits and when these are shaken, love stands no chance 

There is a kind of love, yes real love that is without condition, a lover who loved before He met You. A lover who can’t stop loving you. A love that beats blood relationships. The love that stands when our kind of love fail. It is the GOD kind of Love (Agape)

He loved us before we were born and He sees us as we  are and yet loves us silly as in the first day He bought us. 

Why should we confess His love to ourselves?

When life comes at us with blows, the first thing it shakes is the confidence we have that GOD loves us in spite of what we go through in life. The questions on why trouble should befall someone loved by a the Most Powerful stays at the fore of our minds. These questions and most times voices get very loud in our minds and the only way to shut them out is confessing the love of GOD to yourself 

The Power of confession cannot be overemphasized as the words fall out loud in your own ears, it goes into your spirit and assures your spirit of GOD’s love 

It is important to say them out loud to your hearing. We will do this in series.

1st CONFESSION 

GOD is Love - 1John 4( 7&8)

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."

I believe that GOD is Love and I accept His love for me 

I believe that the very essence of GOD is love and I have His love 

2nd CONFESSION 

2Chronicles 6(14)

“O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven or on earth, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart.”

I believe there is no GOD like You

You keep Your Word and Your covenants to your servants 

I am Your servant 

I believe You show me steadfast love which is unending 

3rd CONFESSION 

Romans8(31-32)

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”

I know GOD is for me

I know nobody can be against me for GOD is for me

My enemies have lost because GOD is for me 

I know and I am sure GOD loves me because He is for me 

And because He is for me I can shout it NOBODY CAN BE AGAINST ME 

4th CONFESSION 

Psalm 36(7)

“How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”

I agree that GOD’s Love for me (insert your name) is Precious 

I believe His love for me is steadfast 

Under Your wings of Love I am safe from all that scares me 

And I am not afraid because You got me Father 

5th CONFESSION 

Psalm 139(13-14)

“For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,I know that full well.”

O what manner of love is this?

He(GOD) created me from Love 

He knitted me piece by piece until I became me 

I AM BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE I AM A PRODUCT OF LOVE (If you didn’t say this, I can understand that it gets hard to say it sometimes especially if you don’t like what you see. Try and Say it loud )

Galatians 2(20)

You o GOD gave me the best gift ever 

No gift can and will ever beat this gift of Your son JESUS 

I will never doubt Your love for me O GOD

“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

I believe in the proof of GOD’s love to me 

The Only Begotten of the Father paid the ultimate price to save me

When you meet people in your life’s journey, look beyond these ideologies;

But she is  not of my ethnicity or tribe
But he is  not of my race
But she is not of my  religion
But he is not of my denomination
But she is not of my social class
But he is can’t talk, walk, hear or see
But she is female
But he is male
But she was once a victim
But he was once a victim
But she is poor
But he lives below my standard
But she is ugly
But he is short
But I’m no longer talking with the person who introduced  us...

I may not have listed them all but I counsel us to relate with  people beyond these thought lines  and even more. Say no to all kinds of discriminations society has created. The heart of a human should be the most attractive part is that human.

To my child though she never came

I touched you but didn’t feel you

A gift after He left us

I supressed the pain

Two years in August 2020

Back to Him who gave me you 
I chose to say you were a she 
Thank You for gracing my bosom with your presence
Never met you but I miss you Baby

There is hope for the gift giver

Once upon a World

Time! Time

There was a time... when the world was filled with happy people, who cared about each other,No color difference,  shared with each other, looked out for each other and shared in each other’s pain and gain... As the years rolled by, family, neighbors, friends were just mere acquaintances as the world now became wider and bigger so much so you could be talking with a hurting or depressed person but we were too carried away by ourselves and achievements and meeting up with goals and competitions that we no longer saw humans but competitions, enemies  .
It became a world where oppression was the currency. If you didn’t have you were nobody and you didn’t matter, a place where one human will loot million meant for a state for personal use, a world where  the hearts of men became truly desperately wicked. No feelings for fellow humans. Crime of all kinds ruled and fear was not the real deal. If it wasn’t a terrorist  attack, it was a  gun being shot at innocent students or death  by accidents on bad road because others looted monies meant for the roads. Soon it became kidnapping and ritual killings, countries  like Syria being at war for many years.

This was beyond individuals  but across Countries  and States  as every action meant something and we planned retaliations with pride to show our readiness for 3rd World War

Today... with the visit of a virus that’s against every country of the world suddenly have made us forgot the wars, the nuclear weapons, treaties; We have forgotten our short and long term goals, targets and missions and visions, conferences, international programs etc, Now the world is faced  with a common enemy and we are all fighting this enemy and I dare say we will win.

This new world where parents can bond with children at home,siblings with each other, spouse with spouse, you open your door and say hi to your neighbour(if you have ever seen them), A new world where people are now picking up their phones to check up on friends and family, reading books, watching recorded movies, forceful relaxation

This new world where we dare to take a breath(hopefully a safe one) from it all for a short while, A world where  you eat home made meals  or cereal as the case may be...

Not everything about this new world is cool. Yes

We are all loosing money... Economies are struggling, corporations and companies are nose diving, millions and billions are presently out of jobs and many cannot survive this time because their daily source of livelihood has been cut off. Secondly social distancing is taking what’s left in our bonding away...

What then  can we do?

This time too shall pass as nations of the world have their scientists working to get a solution and when this happens, let us not forget the lessons we have picked up from it all.
* Let the humane side of us which we did not know was there remain,
*show care and love to those around you and to strangers.
*Spend time with friends and family,
* take time off from time to time for “social distancing “ and rest,
* take hygiene seriously and
* do not magnify material things

We are who we are only by Grace, don’t use the gift from GOD as a weapon against His people

To religious organizations, teach your members the truth and in times like this only the truth in the Word you have taught will keep the people.

Show love to every soul you meet along life’s journey.

This new world + Plenty money = A world to live in happy

My thoughts ran to and fro on the issues of life...

Why do some rejoice and some mourn? The same hospital where one is celebrating the birth of a child, another is crying for the death of a loved one.
The heart feels both emotions literarily, the same heart that leaps for joy can also feel extreme sorrow and deep sadness or other pains

Have you ever felt the pain? if you haven’t ever been in this position- that is great, but does it mean that you are better...?

When a baby comes into the world, it comes with possibilities and destiny. On the very imminent journey of growth from childhood to Adulthood in life- that child will get to experience both joy and pain- sometimes at the extreme. What matters is your reaction to what you feel at any given time.

GOD is the Ultimate and He hates no one. Think about it, people go through horrible experiences in life, so horrible that you can’t imagine it happening to you or happening around you. As I watched one of the stories of 9/11 again, it felt real and yes it was real. I began to imagine those who died in the twin towers, the horrible feelings they may have had knowing they would die while their families watched live on tv... , that is just one out of many life experiences and occurrences we see, hear and live through but... the heart heals even though it never forgets. When I  read and hear these happenings they leave my heart and I’m sure yours bleeding for the victims and their families. The  immediate thoughts that comes to mind is  “that could have been me or my family” and I shout... “GOD forbid”. However, nothing- absolutely nothing makes you or I better than those who died even if you were in the same accident. As I always say- our ultimate goal is to make it back to heaven, the circumstances and or way of death won’t matter even though we pray to avoid terrible situations. And like I said earlier... it could have been you or a close relative. We always have to be sensitive- to consider people going through these emotions while experiencing ours.

In recent years, precisely 2016 and 2019, I was HIT hard with the death of my parents. I am from a close knit family that love each other to a fault, my sisters and I were so loved by our parents it was sweet. During the years the LORD gave us, I thought I understood the pain of death. I will visit someone who was bereaved and say... “so sorry for your loss”, please accept my condonlence”, It is well”, and all that we say and on my way out, I will say “GOD forbid, this will not come near my dwelling “, in those years whenever I went by the casket makers I would sometimes shut my eyes and mumble a prayer... GOD forbid... those times all I could think of was death should not come near me and my family... Then 2016... it hit me and it did very hard. Then I knew how annoying those consoling cliche words were... “sorry for your loss?, it is well? What exactly is well ? It made no sense. The most annoying was “It is GOD’s time or He is in a better place “... these words sounded like pin piercing through the skin but you know that as well raised adults- you do not question people who came to support you, you have to find a way to stay calm, while you listen through which was what we did.

Yes the thoughts of “why” lingered in my heart for so long and it hurt that my sweet family of seven was now 6 and our pillar and most loving father of all times was gone.

That pain made me understand that the pain of death cannot be understood by proxy and it doesn’t mean a bereaved person didn’t do something right, or a person who is diagnosed with cancer or dies by it didn’t eat right or didn’t pray as much,  or participate in that important fasting or show up at the mountain for prayers.

My sisters and I began to treat my mum like our egg and the prayers started again, keep her o LORD, I would say “she’s my one eye o”, we would watch her like hawks and didn’t want anything to happen to her and bam... 2019, we got that most dreaded call that she’d been called home. Home where? How? Whatttttt... GOD what did we do now? questions kept coming and as we trust GOD to heal our hearts, my heart yet wondered, now seeing what the life of an orphan is, especially those orphaned early in life at their most vulnerable time.

Then came the gratitudes, flowing in- in truncates... and the questions... who deserves what they go through? Does GOD have favourites? Is He punishing some? I know many of you dear readers can’t put down on paper your experiences in life, For some,  you saw a parent  kill your other parent, for some you may have been abused as a child, for some the abuse was by a parent or relative, some you may have been gang rapped, it’s the pain of the loss of a child or children all at once or the pain of losing a husband or a best friend... whatever the pain is that you feel from life’s experiences... listen to me, it is not because you are not loved, it is not because those who didn’t have those experiences are better than you, it is not punishment for sin...
Hey... I know you are waiting for me to tell you what it is or give you an answer that will soothe your pain... there is no answer.

All I have to say is that it is the circle of life, joy, laughter, pain, joy again. Be conscious of one thing... make good use of your times in life, love and not hate, be patient and kind, share with others what you have been given by GOD, Decide not to be the cause of pain to anyone, giving them the baggage of experiences to carry through life. If you are an abuser-change, an armed robber, a corrupt official -change, conspirator- change, a gossip-change, a murderer- change, a hater- change... in your own little way, make the world a better place.

We are not here in the world to live forever, we are here for a short time to impact our world, don’t live as though this place is forever ours to keep. Make good use of your life circles and go through the tough times with love from those around you and not alone.

You are just at another bend in life’s journey, you are not alone, we all deal with pain at different times in our lives, suicide is stopping life when it’s just at a bend and not the end of the road(DONT DO IT), don’t stop there, keep moving. Remember it is not anything you did or didn’t do. It is just LIFE

It is not news that we are in a new decade, it is in the line of the radio presenter, the talk show host, the preacher, the motivational speaker and on most quotes we have come across since the beginning of this new decade.

For the sake of clarity, a decade is simply 10 years. Is it okay to say that a 70 years old man has had 7 decades? Yes. Many people are blessed to live beyond that and many more especially in the under developed world do not get the opportunity to live up to 7 decades.

How have the decades been so far? Okay... Let’s pause and think about it. How many decades have you had so far? What have you done with the decades you have been graciously given by GOD? The answer is yours to know.

For some, they began to fulfill destiny in their first decade and run with it through all the decades, some start in their second, some third and so on but some never start at all because they do not realize that as each year passes, decades role by.

This New decade maybe what is left in the afternoon to some and they must be deliberate about it. Think about your present age, add 10 years to it... YES that’s is this decade, what do you want to achieve in this decade? Begin...

Do you want to take life more seriously? Do you want to be deliberate about your decisions, do you want to start the course, that business, that investment, that family, that forgotten dream? Or do you want to joke with this decade? Remember, this decade is your age plus 10.  Will you have the same strength, vigor,will, passion, by the end of this decade? The answer is No.

This article is not intended to scare you but to draw you to the place of purposeful thinking, to spore you to destiny, to bring our attention home from all the empty life of wanting to impress people to actually fulfilling life’s purpose and dreams so that at the end of your many decades here on earth, the earth will know that you passed through, heaven will be proud and you will be happy.
